TBR goal of November 2019

I was almost sure I was going to get through with my October goal entirely. But sadly I didn’t. And, tbh, this is so me I don’t even bother anymore.

I’ve read 2/3 books I’ve targeted: The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi and The Girl from the Well by Rin Chupeco.

Sadly, I couldn’t manage to read Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas, because I was emotionally invested in other books. This previous month has been so prolific that I think I might consider it a success even if I didn’t meet my goal.

I’ve managed to read TWO more books beside the two previously mentioned and I cannot be happier.

I’ve read Wicked Saints by Emily A. Duncan because I was intrigued and I acually came to love it and I started The Mortal Instruments series through City of Bones! (I’m proud of myself).

Now, for this month’s goal I have selected the following books I’d like to read:

Tower of Dawn (Throne of Glass #6) by Sarah J. Maas

Why do I want to read this book:

  • I’ve read the Throne of Glass books before it, all three of them (Throne of Glass, Crown of Midnight, Heir of Fire, Queen of Shadows and Empire of Storms);
  • The last book ended in a MASSIVE CLIFFHANGER THAT I DID NOT APPRECIATE so I really have to get over with this one in order to find out what the bloody hell has happened at the end of Empire of Storms!!
  • Even though it came as an annoying stop of events in the series, I feel like it is going to be an important piece before the last ending of the series so I will try to appreciate it.
  • I must read it this month because I skipped it the previous and I feel bad about it.

Ninth House (Alex Stern #1) by Leigh Bardugo

Why do I want to read this book:

  • It’s new, it’s fresh and I’ve already laied my hands on it;
  • This might sound weird, but I’ve never read a Bardugo book before in my life even though I had an initiative once, so this is delinitely going to be interesting for me;
  • I’ve watched people rioting around this book and the total anarchy that it has created made me even more curious to see what’s right or wrong with it.
  • The cover is fancy, but in real live is even fancier and I’m diggin’ it (and maybe you know I have a thing with pretty covers – as any other overly excited bookworm).

Gods of Jade and Shadow by Silvia Moreno-Garcia

Why do I want to read this book:

  • The cover is so colourful and so pretty and it makes me feel so aesthetically happy that I just have to give it a try;
  • I’ve recently got it so I’d better not waste it in any way;
  • I’m starting this on Día de Muertos just because I want to feel the whole thrill of a celebration;
  • Lately I’ve been watching a Mexican telenovela and now I’m purely obsessed with Mexico and everything about it so let’s consider this part of my new obsession (because I have those at least twice a month anyway so now I’m gonna take the chance).

Oh, man, I so hope I’m going to read these books this month. They’re pretty cool and I’ve already got them so I’d better not dissapoint myself!
