Happy spring everyone and welcome to my monthly edition of “I set myself decent goals and I don’t even meet them because I am an easily-distracted-by-a-fly kind of person”! π
Previous month I had a simple goal: three books. Did I read them all? No. Did I read something else totally not under my radar? Absolutely.
I’ve manage to finish two of the three books I was aiming to read: Sword of Destiny by Andrzej Sapkowski and City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare.
The fascinating thing is that I’ve actually read another books instead of finishing off the third: Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston, Dread Nation by Justina Ireland and Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco.
This month I am aiming for:

Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
Why do I want to read this book:
- This has been sitting on my TBR shelf for as long as I’ve been a member of Goodreads; it’s literally the third book I’ve ever added to my TBR so its time has come, I shall say;
- March is Women’s History Month and as far as I am concerned I always manage to read a book with a bit of female empowerment in this particular month;
- I don’t really care for manners and “normal activities a young woman should interest herself in” but this is an excellent way for me to analyse the insides of what was considered appropriate for women of that time in the eyes of the society;
- I’ve never been big on classics but I must admit that sometimes I do feel the need to read some;
- The cover is so pretty and so aesthetic;
- I saw the new film and I loved it so I should totally dig this.

Hunting Prince Dracula (Stalking Jack the Ripper #2) by Kerri Maniscalco
Why do I want to read this book:
- Going on with the series because I loved Stalking Jack the Ripper;
- I really love Audrey Rose and Thomas and their gory detective adventures;
- I just want to continue with the theme I’ve been approaching lately – feminine figures of badass self of the late 1800s;
- Uhm, hello? A Romanian here, hi; this should just be a priority for my immortal vampire soul at this point, I mean, I am dying of curiosity to see how well a little part of Romania so close to me is going to be portrayed;
- The Bran Castle is on the cover and I am about to cry because it is gorgeous.

Season of Storms (The Witcher Prequel) by Andrzej Sapkowski
Why do I want to read this book:
- I’ve already read the short stories The Last Wish and Sword of Destiny and I enjoyed them so I just have to go on with The Witcher;
- I haven’t a clue in which order I should read these books but giving the fact that I haven’t read any of them before the series was over I think I should read the prequel after reading the short stories and then go on with the series;
- I’ve already started it two months ago but tossed it in a corner in order to read something else (oops) and now it just demands somehow to be read; I am only complying;
- I kind of miss Gerlat and Jaskier, not gonna lie.
And with that, this is it.
All I have to do now is to hope I’ll finish this and say for once that I planned something and I actually followed the steps.
What do you plan to read in this beautiful month of spring? Let me know π·
