TBR goal of April 2020

Hello everyone, greetings from self-isolation! šŸ‘‹

With all this madness going on I’ve been able to read so much I’m nearly shocked when I think of how behind I’m with the reviews now. But I don’t want to think of that and I will keep it positive: in March I’ve read 7 books! Woohoo, yay me!

(I haven’t read the books I was supposed to but this is so me anyway)

As a quick recap: I managed to finish Ruthless Gods and Little Women, both of them started in February. And giving the fact that Sarah J. Maas’s House of Earth and Blood came out at the beginning of March I just HAD TO READ IT and I actually did! And because I loved it so much I also launched myself (head first) into the ACOTAR series managing to read A Court of Thorns and Roses, A Court of Mist and Fury and A Court of Wings and Ruin! If that’s not insane, I don’t know what is…

And in between ACOTAR books I managed to read The Shadows Between Us too.

Oh God, seeing all that achievement makes me want to squeal. I don’t even want to set a goal for this month anymore because I’ll read like crazy anyway, but I shall set it nonetheless.

So this is what I’m aiming for:

A Court of Frost and Starlight (A Court of Thorns and Roses #3.1) by Sarah J. Maas

Why do I want to read this book:

  • I am truly obsessed with the ACOTAR universe and I am definitely a hardcore fan of it so I am not going to rob myself of the pleasure of reading this;
  • After the third book ending, I need all the fluff in the world, I need to see my precious babies warm and happy and safe!
  • It is April already but OUTSIDE IS BLOODY SNOWING and if this is not the perfect excuse Mother Nature created excursively for me to sit by the window with a cup of tea and read this book then I don’t know what this is;
  • Have I mentioned my precious babies?? I love them, I’m reading this. And that’s that.

Hunting Prince Dracula (Stalking Jack the Ripper #2) by Kerri Maniscalco

Why do I want to read this book:

  • Going on with the series because I loved Stalking Jack the Ripper;
  • I was supposed to read this last month and of course I didn’t;
  • I really love Audrey Rose and Thomas and their gory detective adventures;
  • I just want to continue with the theme I’ve been approaching lately – feminine figures of badass self of the late 1800s;
  • Uhm, hello? A Romanian here, hi; this should just be a priority for my immortal vampire soul at this point, I mean, I am dying of curiosity to see how well a little part of Romania so close to me is going to be portrayed;
  • The Bran Castle is on the cover and I am about to cry because it is gorgeous.

The Girl Who Played with Fire (Millennium #2) by Stieg Larsson

Why do I want to read this book:

  • I read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo almost two years ago and even though it was a tough journey, by the end I’ve come to find it quite brilliant;
  • I am planning on finishing Stieg Larsson’s trilogy;
  • I love Lisbeth Salander, she’s so badass I can’t even put into words how cool she is;
  • I haven’t been reading a thriller in aeons and I am now asking myself what’s wrong with me because there was a time in my life when I was a mystery-thriller queen;
  • This is the perfect opportunity to get my old self back in biz.

What do you plan on reading for this month?
